Default 2008 Scion xB Tanabe Strut Bar

Tanabe is currently working on an upper strut bar for the 2008 Scion xB. No pictures or detailed information has been released yet. Expect the strut bar to have an MSRP of just over $100. The strut tower bar is arguable one of the least expensive upgrades that can provide a very high degree of benefit that is felt immediately after installing. Often one of the first modifications performed on a vehicle, the strut tower brace improves handling and stability of a vehicle.

The Sustec Tower Bar has been very popular due to its low price and high functionality. By connecting the strut towers, and creating a balance, the shocks are prevented from independently moving and causing small changes in suspension geometry.

Could ANYONE explain to me how the strut bar improves the xb, especially when the firewall is right behind the strut pillars?

It seems that the vehicle frame/structure would be sufficient to prevent any "flex" that such a bar would be designed to prevent.

I'm not an engineer, so could someone explain how this actually improves the Gen 2 xB?
