We recently spoke with World Racing about their 2008 Scion xB. They have been working diligently on their turbocharged project and have provided us with some great photo's. World Racing discusses their turbo build and tells us of their plans for this beast of a car.

World Racing made use of a huge 6" thick side mount intercooler. Careful planning must go into the design of the turbo kit and they found this type of intercooler to be the most efficient. The radiator, A/C condenser, fog lights, and crash bar layout prevent a properly sized intercooler to fit up in the front. World Racing chose to keep this xB a street car, so they opted not to remove the front crash bar.
This picture shows their mock up of their dash layout with the gauges, shift light, and top of the line boost controller. Although they didn't provide too many, they hinted that they are using a "boost per gear" technique for their kit.
World Racing is notorious for their entriquete designs for turbo manifolds. Their long snake design allows them to make incredible power in their kits. The prototype piping pictured in the photo's below was powder coated wrinkle black. They pointed out that they were able to retain all of their stock fants, radiator, hoses, etc. The kit uses a large Bullseye Power turbo. The only thing they had to do was swap their battery to a small one. Incredibly, they were able to produce a huge 359hp and 353 ft/tq! This goes to show that this turbo kit is no joke.
For the prototype, World Racing made a custom twin TRD exhaust system.
